Reception and Gallery Talk- Anne Krinsky: Reconfigurations

Visitors to the Art Complex at Duxbury will have the opportunity to meet internationally-known Artist Anne Krinsky during her reception and gallery talk for her new exhibition, Reconfigurations.  Her layered abstractions reference the geometry of place in three different locations – Gloucester, Massachusetts, Tunisia and southeast London, where she now lives.  Krinsky employs a variety of painted and printed mediums including acrylic, acrylic transfer, silkscreen, collage, graphite and crayon.  She also sands down some areas to reveal traces of previous layers or to merge many paint applications into a single seductive surface.  The reception is scheduled from 1:30 until 3:30 p.m.

Another Beach Grass Planting day has been scheduled. The rain date is March 24, 2013. The grass has to be planted one of those two days, so if the entire weekend is a washout, we will do it the better of the two days. Watch the Community Cable station if you are unsure. We hope that all of you will be able to attend, and hopefully bring your friends and family.  We will be planting from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. We will be starting an hour later due to the tides. The plants and sign in tables will be at the corner of A Street and Beach Avenue. We will be planting from Phipps Street (near the comfort station) north. If you have a preference as to location, please let us know by March 10, 2012. Although we may not be able to comply with your exact location, we will try to provide you with a location as close as possible. Even if you don’t have a preference please let us know if you plan on joining us. It is important for us to match people with areas in most need of restoration prior to the planting.  The Beach Management Committee is now on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Beach-Management-Committee-_-Town-Of-Hull/ 112524482181842).
